Creating a country chic masterpiece, Steve’s Rosedale Farm project combines a quintessential traditional style with contemporary functionality.

A well-regarded leader in interior styling, Steve has refined his skills over an illustrious career. Beginning his career working with the likes of Neale Whitaker and Imogen Naylor, Steve is now the ‘style director at large’ for Belle magazine. Also regarded as one of Australia’s top interior Instagramers, Steve is devoted to pushing the boundaries of Australian design.

Recently, Steve finished his latest project – Rosedale Farm. Located in rural New South Wales, Rosedale Farm is Steve’s very own tranquil sanctuary. Crafting a contemporary twist on a traditional country interior, Rosedale Farm features Arabescato Vagli Marble from CDK Stone. We briefly spoke with Steve about how this daring marble sits within this unique design.

“One of my key design choices for our new kitchen at Rosedale Farm was the Arabescato Vagli Marble from CDK Stone”, explains Steve. Featured on the island benchtop, backbench, splashback and in the butler’s pantry, Arabescato Vagli pays homage to timeless Italian marble patterns whilst evoking a more daring, contemporary veining.

Born in Italy’s Apuan Alps, Arabescato Vagli creates a balanced contrast while effortlessly synergising with both light and dark architectural elements. “I love the heavy vein and texture of the stone, it brings the whole kitchen together”, Steve goes on to explain.

Fast becoming one of the most sought-after premium Italian marbles, Arabescato Vagli is a popular choice for architects and interior designs as it intertwines subtle and stark veins that presents a raw, natural aesthetic. At the heart of this country chic masterpiece is the Shaker style kitchen. Tying together functionality and timeless interior design, Steve’s unique take on this classic trend is inspiring. The deep, dark khaki cabinetry creates a strong contrast against the natural light and brass hardware. The warm tones of the recycled Chevron Oak floors creates a natural, down-to-earth aura. Effortlessly tying all these elements together is the Arabescato Vagli Marble benchtops.

The traditional roots of this kitchen design are perfectly balanced with modern functionality. With a range of Miele appliances throughout the kitchen and laundry, this kitchen delivers the best both of traditional and contemporary trends.
